Baker University School of Nursing ranked No. 1 nursing program in Kansas

Baker University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is ranked No. 1 in Kansas and among the top nursing programs nationally, according to RN Careers. RN Career Guides give prospective nursing students a much-needed compass and review for their first or next chapter in their nursing careers.

“I am so proud of our faculty, who are dedicated to and have a passion for preparing the finest nurses, have been recognized for their hard work,” said Bernadette Fetterolf, dean of Baker’s School of Nursing. “We are educating the next generation of nurses, who will provide quality and compassionate health care.”

To determine the ranking, RN Careers evaluated 16 BSN programs in Kansas. It reviewed each institution’s first-time NCLEX (licensing exam) pass rates, the number of students taking the test, the program’s nursing accreditation, and other key data. Baker University’s School of Nursing scored high among other programs:

  • Student’s average test score: 994% NCLEX (nursing licensure scores)
  • Ranking: 90th nationally

Founded in 1991, Baker University School of Nursing is known for producing the best and brightest nurses in the region. More than 95% of Baker graduates staying in Kansas are licensed and employed within three months of graduation. The most current 2018 student average test scores are 97%, which is higher than the score RN Careers based their ranking on. Students in the BSN program take their last two years of nursing course work at Stormont Vail Health campus in Topeka, Kansas.
