Philadelphia Hostage $80,000 Ransom Standoff Ends 3 people arrested
BRISTOL TWP., Pa. – April 23, 2013 (WPVI) — Three people are now under arrest, accused of terrorizing a Bucks County family for several hours.

According to Bristol Township Police, Orlando McNeil, Daesean Smith and Dennis Redding held four adults and three children hostage at gunpoint for a ransom – allegedly duct taping the victims and forcing some to strip.

Authorities say the armed men broke into a residence at Levittown Trace Apartments Sunday night.

Then around 10:00 a.m. Monday, the trio allegedly forced one of the victims to go to a PNC Bank in Bristol Borough to withdraw $80,000.

Action News is told the victim recently received a cash life insurance award after his mother died.

While at the bank, the victim told a teller his friends and family were being held hostage.

The bank employee gave the victim $1,500 and then alerted the police.

All three suspects were eventually caught after a foot chase from the apartment.

Police have obtained surveillance video that illustrated how the men gained access to the premises.

Police say none of the victims was seriously hurt.
