Scouting for Food 2015 Promo Vid

Please help your local Boy Scouts collect food for the San Antonio Food Bank through Scouting for Food!

Scouting Logos WebThe San Antonio Food Bank is proud to renew its partnership with the Boys Scouts of America Alamo Area Council. Scouting for Food is a regional-wide food drive led by local Boy Scouts with the goal of collecting 50,000 pounds of food for those in need.

The drive will take place over two weekends:

On Saturday, February 21, 2015, the Boy Scouts will deliver empty paper bags donated by H-E-B throughout their local neighborhoods. The bags have instructions on them for you to fill with nonperishable items and leave on your doorstop early the following Saturday morning February 28, 2015.

Starting at 8 AM on Saturday, February 28, 2015, the Boy Scouts will retrace their steps, pick up the filled bags and then deliver them to drop points throughout the region where the San Antonio Food Bank will have trucks waiting to collect the food.

Boy Scouts can reserve neighborhoods online at www.alamoareabsa.org/scoutingforfood.

A Unified Focus on Youth – Hunger Facts:
1 in 4 children in Bexar County are food insecure.
Nearly 40% of the Food Bank’s emergency food recipents are children.
Each week, the Food Bank’s Kids Cafes provide more than 3,500 after-school meals to children in need.
